Thinking Bigger for World Book Day
World Book Day is the biggest celebration of books and reading across the world. Our pupils and staff love to dress as their favourite characters from books and as usual the costumes sparked some great conversations about what everyone likes to read.
We were also delighted to welcome the author Gary Fyles, of Thinking Bigger fame. Gary spoke to pupils about positive thinking and having a growth mindset. He read from his books, shared his story, ran activities and even asked the boys for feedback on a new book he is currently working on.
As part of our World Book Week celebrations, we have also recorded a song together. This will be available at the Easter Fair. We also dropped everything to read and visited different classes to read together.
We ended our week of celebrations on Friday with our Festival of Friendship where all students paraded their class worry monsters and swapped friendship bracelets with friends old and new. We also had an online session from an illustrator, who helped us to create some amazing illustrations.
