Brantridge School has teamed up with Pawsible, a non for profit organisation that supports assistance dogs in the community. As a result Kimmi comes into school every Tuesday and Thursday.
Kimmi is a Finnish Lapphund, a breed known for its easy-going nature and intelligence. The children love getting Kimmi to do tricks for them and giving him a treat as a reward.
Some children read to Kimmi, some take him for a walk and some just sit with Kimmi to help them self-regulate. Kimmi spends time in each class working with the whole group and also with individual students on a one to one basis.
