‘Spotacular’ day for Children in Need
Thank you to everyone for supporting our Children in Need charity fundraising event on 15th November. We had a truly ‘Spotacular’ day in school and raised an amazing £287 for this fantastic charity which helps disadvantaged children throughout the UK.
We held an assembly discussing the aims of BBC Children in Need, how to fundraise, and where the contributions go. The pupils demonstrated extensive knowledge about the charity. Even our youngest pupils expressed their understanding of the importance of caring for others and supporting vulnerable children.
Pupils also took part in a number of fun activities including creating split pin bears and decorating cupcakes. Some used fondant icing with Children in Need cutters, while others let their imagination shine by spreading or piping icing on their cupcakes, topped with jellies or mini chocolate lentils. All the cupcakes looked so delicious and it was amazing that some pupils saved theirs to take home.
Additionally, some boys participated in a Pudsey bandana ‘SPOThunt,’ where they practiced their maths skills. During lunchtime, some classes transformed their rooms into picnic areas, and boys enjoyed wrapping themselves in blankets brought in from home so they were nice and comfortable throughout the day. Thank you to parents and carers for sending the blankets; the boys were thrilled to have them.
