Expansion to go ahead
The proposal to expand Brantridge School to provide additional places for up to 80 secondary pupils, has been given the go ahead. This means that pupils currently in Year 6 will be able to stay on at the school in September for Year 7 and continue at the school for their secondary education.
Dafydd Roberts, principal of Brantridge School, said: “I am absolutely delighted that the proposal to offer our pupils the opportunity to stay on at the school and continue into year 7 has been given the go ahead. We know from speaking to our families that they will really welcome having this as an option for their child.”
From September 2022 up to 14 Year 7 pupils will be accommodated by remodelling the existing classrooms. The secondary provision will grow organically over the next five years and West Sussex council are looking at the options to build a secondary base on the existing school site. If all goes to plan the new building will be ready to open to pupils from September 2023.
