Pupils enjoy educational visit to Tilgate Park and Zoo
Pupils from Brantridge School recently enjoyed a memorable educational visit to Tilgate Park and Zoo, making the most of the school’s close proximity to the popular local attraction. Pupils from Morpurgo class spent the day exploring a wide range of animals while developing their understanding of the natural world.
During the visit, pupils linked their experiences directly to their classroom learning by discussing which animals would be suitable for their rainforest topic. They carefully considered the different habitats animals need to survive and thrive, deepening their knowledge of environments and biodiversity. The trip also sparked thoughtful conversations about the vital role zoos play in conservation, with pupils learning how many zoos work to protect endangered species, support breeding programmes and educate the public about caring for wildlife.
With beautiful sunshine, pupils enjoyed spending time outdoors, observing animals and sharing ideas with friends. The visit was both fun and educational, providing a valuable real-world context for learning back at school and leaving everyone with lasting memories of a fantastic day out.
