Online Safety

Keeping pupils safe online

At Brantridge, we have a strong focus on E-safety and keeping pupils safe online. Each year, the pupils learn about ways to keep safe online, safe researching and about viruses and spam. This coincides with ‘Safer internet day’, which occurs in February.

At school, we use a web filtering system to prevent the pupils from accessing anything they should not. If you would like help in setting up some filters at home, which can help protect your children online, we would recommend having a look at the straightforward instructions from Internet Matters – an organisation dedicated to keeping children safe in the digital world.

We hold yearly training for parents on keeping their children safe online. The safeguarding team meet regularly and discuss issues regarding pupil safety including E-safety and pupils accessing age inappropriate materials.

The UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS) is a group of more than 200 organisations drawn from across government, industry, law, academia and charity sectors that work in partnership to help keep children safe online. They provide advice and guidance for Schools and colleges.
