At Brantridge School we encourage all pupils to read and help them find books and content that they enjoy.
There is more information on this page about how we support and encourage reading. There is also some tips for parents and carers to help with reading at home.
Well done to our first reader who has completed a Reading Bingo Line and earnt a wrist band.
Pupils are encouraged to complete reading tasks and are awarded a wrist band when they complete a row of their Reading Bingo cards.
We have two versions of our Reading Bingo cards: one for lower school and one for the older pupils, who also have a card to record ‘Catch me’ reading for example when a pupil is reading at home or challenging themselves to read a more tricky book! (see below)
To mark World Book Day 2023 Brantridge School used the book ‘Mother Earth is weeping’ by Claire Donald. Throughout the week, each class worked on a page from the book to create art, writing and drama. Working closely with the eco council the children explored the themes of the book.
In keeping with the theme, we asked the boys to only wear costumes that were either homemade, re used or recycled.
The boys also learnt and performed the song ‘I am the Earth’ which you can listen to using the link below.
