Brantridge School celebrates recent Ofsted report
We are delighted to share that Brantridge School has been recognised for its high standards across the board after receiving an ‘Exceptional’ rating in attendance and behaviour and a ‘Strong’ rating in every other category inspected by Ofsted, marking a significant achievement under the inspectorate’s updated framework.
Following an inspection on 19 May 2026, the school was assessed under Ofsted’s revised grading system, introduced at the end of 2025. Inspectors concluded that the school is working at an exceptional level, the highest standard nationally in attendance and behaviour and working above the expected standard in all other key areas, including achievement, curriculum and teaching, inclusion, leadership and governance, personal development and wellbeing.
The report highlights the school’s overall success: “The school is successful in its mission to enable pupils to become resilient, confident, self-regulating and ready to access the next stage of life.”
Inspectors praised the school’s “highly inclusive culture”, noting that pupils “thrive at the school” and are welcomed each day by “kind and caring staff who know them very well”. The report also recognised the transformative impact the school has on young people, enabling pupils to “enjoy learning and achieve well at school, often for the first time.”
Particular recognition was given to the school’s approach to attendance and behaviour. Inspectors found that leaders have established a culture where pupils feel they belong, achieve success and want to attend school, resulting in improved attendance over time. Ofsted noted that pupils’ behaviour in classrooms and around the school is “calm and respectful” and the pupils consistently demonstrate “high levels of self-discipline, increasing independence and dedication to their learning.”
The report recognised the school’s carefully designed curriculum, strong teaching, personalised pastoral support and commitment to helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and the skills needed to thrive. Inspectors noted that staff build strong relationships with pupils and work proactively to support them.
Dafydd Roberts, Principal of Brantridge School, said: “We are incredibly proud of this achievement and of every member of our school community who has contributed to it. This report reflects the dedication, expertise and compassion of our staff, the support of families and the hard work of our pupils. To be recognised as exceptional in attendance and behaviour is particularly significant, as it demonstrates the trust our pupils place in us and their enthusiasm for being part of our school community. We remain committed to ensuring every young person has the opportunity to flourish, achieve and be fully prepared for the next stage of their lives.”
