Arts Week 2025

Last week, Brantridge School came alive with creativity as we celebrated our much-anticipated Arts Week! Using the brilliant Sky Arts programme as inspiration, each class tailored activities to suit their interests, resulting in a fantastic, fun-filled week of artistic expression.

Monday began with a special visit from an artist from Fabrica, who delivered hands-on workshops across the school. The boys unleashed their imaginations, using clay to create fantastical underwater creatures decorated with beads, feathers, and sparkling glass eyes.

In Zephaniah Class, the pupils designed quirky “mashed-up” animals and transformed their drawings into flip books, providing lots of laughs along the way! Stafford Class brought stories to life through drama, including a fantastic performance of Little Red Riding Hood.

Throughout the week, we also explored Onomatopoeia, writing playful sound poems and creating soundscapes with instruments to accompany our words before performing them for our peers.

In literacy sessions, the pupils wrote imaginative stories inspired by famous paintings, thinking creatively about what might have happened before and after the moment captured on canvas. Their ideas were as vibrant as the artworks themselves!

Earhart Class took inspiration from Vincent Van Gogh to create stunning pieces of art, which they proudly showcased in their very own exhibition. Other classes were invited to visit and admire their incredible efforts.

Outdoor Learning also played a role in our creative week, as students designed and built unique creatures using natural materials like leaves, twigs, and other treasures from the outdoors – proving that nature itself can be a powerful art supply!

We were also thrilled to welcome the Sky Arts team, who visited the school and saw first-hand how we’ve been bringing their resources to life in the classroom.

A huge well done to all the students and staff for making Arts Week such a vibrant, inspiring success!
