A journey to well being: Brantridge School delivers myHappymind across all year groups
- Pupils from Brantridge School are being supported with their mental health and well-being through the myHappymind curriculum, a programme that empowers children from Year 1 to Year 6 with the tools they need to understand themselves, build confidence and thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Each year group follows a tailored version of the curriculum, with Year 6 focusing specifically on preparing for the exciting transition to secondary school. Every lesson is brought to life with interactive quizzes, songs, animations, and a cast of much‑loved characters that help pupils connect with the learning in a fun and memorable way.
The programme is built around five key modules:
- Meet your brain – Pupils learn how their brains work and discover simple techniques to relax and stay calm.
- Celebrate – Pupils explore their strengths and achievements, boosting confidence and self‑esteem.
- Appreciate – Developing a habit of gratitude by teaching children the importance of recognising and sharing what they are grateful for.
- Relate – Introducing relationship-building skills to ensure children can form friendships, be heard, and understand others.
- Engage – Teaching the power of goal setting so children can aspire, dream, and learn to persevere.
Grounded in scientific research, the myHappymind approach aims to make a meaningful difference in helping our pupils:
- Feel happier and more confident
- Understanding what to do when they feel worried or stressed
- Improving focus and learning more effectively
- Working towards and achieving personal goals
To extend these benefits beyond the school day, families are encouraged to join the learning journey at home. The myHappymind Parent App offers parents access to the same strategies, along with games, songs, and calming activities that the pupils enjoy.
Brantridge School is proud to champion positive mental health and to equip every pupil with the lifelong skills they need to flourish.
